ISG Jackson seeks local trade contractors for £5.4 million Ashford housing scheme

15 Feb 11 ISG Jackson is looking to recruit a host of local Ashford-based companies to help it deliver a major £5.4 million housing scheme for Ashford Borough Council.

The construction company is hosting a Job Creation Fair at the Civic Centre, Tannery Lane on Monday 21st February, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm in Committee Rooms One & Two, and is extending an open invitation to locally-based trade contractors with the skills and expertise to work on this important regional project.

The event is an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their credentials to ISG Jackson, with the company actively encouraging a wide range of trade contractors, including plumbers, electricians through to plasterers and decorators, to come down on the day. Companies will be invited to tender for various elements of the project to build 44 new homes on eleven separate sites across Ashford. A recruitment advisor from ISG Jackson will also attend the event to discuss employment opportunities for high calibre individuals in various roles, from site managers, assistant site managers to site secretaries and labourers.

The project is the second phase of a council master plan to redevelop underused areas of the borough and represents a significant investment in creating modern, efficient council housing facilities across this fast-growing area of Kent. The new dwellings take the form of terraced and semi-detached properties, flats and bungalows, and all will achieve a Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 sustainability rating. The most high profile site to be redeveloped sees the creation of nine new care flats built in an extension to Luckley House, an existing sheltered housing facility in Wye. The complete project is scheduled for completion in late summer 2011.
