ISG Jackson takes £multi-million second phase of work at Kent hospital

11 Apr 11 ISG Jackson has secured a second phase of work at Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital following the recent completion of a fast-track refurbishment and upgrade project at the Kent facility.

The contractor has been appointed to the final £multi-million phase, which will mark the conclusion of a major programme of investment to enhance the patient experience at the highly regarded hospital.

This latest contract sees the comprehensive refurbishment of patient accommodation within the building, comprising 41 individual rooms, as well as consulting and treatment rooms and administrative office areas. The modernisation programme also sees ISG Jackson reconfiguring and rationalising internal space to create a contemporary environment for visitors to the hospital, with a new reception area and improved accessible entrance with an external canopy.

Carefully scheduling the works will enable the hospital to remain fully operational throughout the project’s duration, with a highly complex strip out and partial replacement of the building’s mechanical & electrical services carried out across eight individual phases to minimise disruption. The hospital’s façade will also be transformed as part of the project, with the contractor applying render and modern cladding panels to the exterior elevations, as well as installing new windows and curtain walling elements.

This is a growing sector for ISG Jackson and one where our experience and expertise working across complex, phased schemes continues to be recognised by both public and private sector clients.”
