The steel-framed building will make extensive use of glass for natural light. It will be fully enclosed and facilities for passengers will include plenty of seating, toilets, a shop, café and baby changing area.
One of the most striking features, Kier says, will be a long aerial pedestrian walkway running above the bus station and road forecourt.
