Lancashire seeks partners to regenerate assets worth billions

9 Mar 12 Lancashire County Council is looking to appoint two property partners to deliver comprehensive regeneration across the county.

The regeneration property partners (RPP) will join with the county council in working with the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership and Lancashire organisations to deliver comprehensive regeneration across Lancashire through the structured development of public sector assets.

Work will be in two geographical lots. The estimated value of the county council's property assets, excluding schools in use, waste plants and infrastructure, is £280m. The estimated combined value of the Lancashire organisations' property assets is in the region of £736m to £3.464bn.

Each RPP will work on the delivery of asset management and masterplanning services for the whole of the public sector estate in Lancashire, with the overriding aim of promoting the economic regeneration of Lancashire.

It is intended that each of the RPPs will be capable of embracing public assets that belong to other central and local public sector bodies including councils, universities, ministries and the NHS.

The deadline for requests to participate is in April. Details in the Construction Index contract leads section.
