Companies who choose to register with the scheme commit themselves to abide by the scheme’s code of practice which asks them to be more considerate towards the public, the workforce and the environment.
Falkirk-based ID Systems UK Ltd became the 500th company to sign up. The company specialises in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation and was established in 2002.
Managing director Iain Doherty said: "It is important for an SME such as ID Systems to recognise the benefits of being part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme as it demonstrates our desire to improve quality and health and safety to our competitors. It demonstrates our commitment to our employees, and it demonstrates our commitment to the general public."
