Work on the complex is part of the major expansion programme at Abu Dhabi International Airport. It includes a terminal building that will serve as the new gateway to Abu Dhabi.
L&T will build concrete hard-stands for aircraft parking around the new Midfield terminal building, The airside works also include taxi lanes along the apron parking stands and link taxiway connections to the existing airside infrastructure with a tunnel on the airside. The tasks for the airside include earthworks, concrete pavements, asphalt paving with markings and associated work such as drainage, lighting and utilities.
The project will start this month with a construction period of 28 months. The airport terminal complex is expected to be commissioned by 2017.
