Madness to play at The Construction Index race day

10 Jan 12 Legendary ska band Madness will be part of the entertainment at The Construction Index race day this summer, at Doncaster Racecourse.

Led by iconic front man Suggs, the band will play at the Town Moor course on Saturday 30 June, as part of The Construction Index live music night, which follows the racing.

Known globally for their twenty-one top-twenty singles over seven years in the late seventies and eighties, including ‘One Step Beyond’, ‘It Must Be Love’, ‘House of Fun’, ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘My Girl’ and ‘Our House’, the band’s sound developed from their early Ska roots and has set the tone for over three decades of complete Madness.

It’s not the first time the boys from Camden Town have mixed it up in Doncaster. After the redevelopment at the course the band were the first live act to play there, wowing a packed house which they are set to do once again.

Madness stated: "We're over the moon to be returning to Doncaster Racecourse. Our last gig at Doncaster Racecourse was in 2008 and we remember the massive crowd fondly. Four years on, we hear the people of Yorkshire want us back. We're working on our 10th studio album at the moment, which will be out later this year - so the Doncaster Racecourse crowd can expect all the favourites plus some new stuff too!"

Just a handful of tables remain for The Construction Index race day. The package costs £1,870 for a table of 10, and includes champagne reception, a three-course meal, free bar, plus the post racing entertainment.
