LHC launches third off-site framework

30 Apr 15 Local authority procurement group LHC has launched a final workstream on its off-site construction framework.

The public sector consortium is looking for specialist contractors to apply for the construction services workstream of the Off-site Construction of New Homes framework.

This is the third workstream to be added to this framework and will enable LHC to offer its housing association and local authority clients a turnkey solution for prefabricated homes and those built using other off-site construction methods.

The new framework includes ground works and finishing.

The Offsite Construction of New Homes framework has been divided into three work streams. Workstreams 1 and 2 for volumetric and panelised building systems were launched in 2014.

LHC director John Skivington said: “The framework has been designed in such a way that it accommodates contractors of all sizes who are best positioned to deal with large or small projects. We are keen to hear from contractors interested in tendering for the framework.

“The move to supplying a complete turnkey, offsite solutions is the result of the growing interest by social landlords and local authorities and to offer them a possible solution to help meet the challenge of building more homes.”

Contract notices have been published and the tender documentation is now available for download via the LHC website at www.lhc.gov.uk/etendering. Deadline for submissions is 6th June 2015.
