Linden Homes Oxford appoints Stephen Swinscoe as Land Director

15 Feb 11 Award-winning housebuilder Linden Homes Oxford has appointed Stephen Swinscoe as Land Director.

Working throughout Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley region, Stephen will be responsible for sourcing and securing land opportunities, as well as negotiating planning consent for secured sites.

His appointment strengthens the commitment of the Galliford Try Group with its launch of the new Oxford region which is overseen by Greg Locke, the Divisional Managing Director of Galliford Try Homes Midlands and South West.

“I’m delighted to have joined the new Linden Homes team in Oxford,” says Stephen, who brings more than 10 years experience to his new role.  “Over the next 12 months we will be looking to grow our presence throughout Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley.  There are a number of exciting opportunities out there in the market for us, despite a continuing uncertain economic outlook.”

Stephen has a first class honours degree in residential development with a post graduate diploma in urban and regional planning.  He began his career as a land buyer for Peveril Homes and most recently worked for Taylor Wimpey.

Greg Locke explains: “I’m delighted Stephen has joined the team to expand our operations in the Thames Valley area. He’ll be pursuing a number of new opportunities, as well as embracing the government’s new localism bill which will transform the way in which local authorities grant planning permission in the future.”

The recent establishment of the Linden Homes region in Oxford has been made to expand its business throughout the Thames Valley. Under its Linden Homes brand, the company will be developing a range of new homes, making a major contribution to the region’s economy, as well as creating jobs.  The company is currently based in Abingdon but will be looking to move to a permanent base in Oxford in the next 18 months.

Galliford Try sees this new Oxford business as a major driving force in its quest to significantly increase the size of the group’s house building business.
