Mammoet adds two new Grove cranes to UK fleet

12 Apr 11 Mammoet UK has added two new Grove mobile cranes to its fleet - a GCK 3045 compact crane and a six-axle GMK 6300L all-terrain. Both units are the first of their type in the UK.

The 45t capacity GCK 3045 is a single-cab, boom-down crane, designed to be maneuverable on urban job sites and industrial facilities with limited work space.

The 300t capacity GMK 6300L is a six-axle crane that has an 80 m boom, the longest on the market in this class of crane. The crane’s reach suits it for tasks such as tower crane erection, placing air conditioning units or elevator equipment, and chimney work.

Mammoet UK managing director Darren Adams said: “We are delighted to bring the first of these cranes to the UK,” he said. “We have used Grove cranes for years, and their reliability is second to none. As we expand, we must ensure we have the best tools for the job. These two cranes extend the versatility of our range and enable us to meet almost any lifting requirement, big or small.”

The two latest additions are part of an expansion of the Dutch lifting giant’s UK operations. Both cranes will be available across the country.

Mammoet is one of the world’s largest crane rental companies with offices around the world. In the UK, it operates 120 cranes from five regional centres and employs more than 150 staff.
