The contract involves the design and build of 18 new timber framed homes, a mixture of terraced and semi-detached properties. Built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3, the homes will utilise air source heat pumps, low energy lighting and water saving measures, this will contribute to the reduction of residents energy bills.
The development will house all remaining residents who used to live in the area and want to return, as well as providing affordable housing for people who want to move to the regenerated community.
Work has just started on site and will complete in May 2012.
