The project, which has been designed by Bell Phillips Architects, will be traditionally constructed, comprising a mixture of two and three-storey family homes and flats. Built to achieve Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, 20% of energy used will be from renewable sources.
This is the first new build housing project the borough has completed in two decades.
Work is due to start on site this month and complete in February 2012.
