The new 10-story building will provide 671 bed spaces. Commercial units will be constructed under the main building. The development has been designed to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.
Work has already started on site and is scheduled to complete in September 2012.
This is the latest in a series of student accommodation developments Mansell has constructed for UNITE in a relationship dating back to 2001. In 2009 Mansell was awarded the first student accommodation project at Great Suffolk Street, an £18m contract to design and construct 230 student accommodation units which has recently completed.
Mansell is also on site at Mansfield Hall in Reading working on a £22.3m project to build seven multi-storey student accommodation blocks.
