Matt Sheridan joins McLaren Construction years as business development manager after seven years in the that role at Sir Robert McAlpine.
At McLaren, Matt Sheridan will focus on growing the major projects division, working with group business development director Nick Fox.
Before his time with McAlpine, Sheridan was with Balfour Beatty for nine years, where colleagues included Paul Heather and John Butten who are now both McLaren board directors. Paul Heather is now McLaren’s group managing director while John Butten is managing director of major projects.
John Butten said: “Matt has the top tier experience to understand McLaren’s trajectory and the calibre of projects we are taking on. He will help us continue the growth of the business and develop its reputation in the market with customers, consultants and the supply chain.”
Matt Sheridan said: “McLaren is a dynamic and agile business that is already disrupting the tier 1 establishment with its contract awards. Its reputation for keeping clients happy with first class product across a broad range of sectors is a gift for a business development team.
“That experience across a range of sectors is vital now when so many projects involve repurposing to a mix of uses. A contractor has to understand those sectors to unlock value at the same time as reducing the carbon emissions from construction, reusing structures and materials.”
