McAvoy, based in County Tyrone, has signed the contract to build Goresbrook School for the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham on the site of a former leisure centre. The contract was awarded through the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) framework for modular building systems.
It has also secured preferred bidder status for a similar project for Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy Trust in Slough.
Goresbrook (pictured below) is a Wave 3 Free School founded by United Learning. The 10,381m2 school swill take up to 1,355 pupils from nursery age to sixth form.
Lynch Hill is a new 8,050m2 secondary school for 1,100 pupils.
Both of the projects are funded by the Education Funding Agency.

Our growing reputation across the UK for the quality of the school buildings we deliver has resulted in significant success across a number of major frameworks that have been established for the delivery of schools funded through the Education Funding Agency. In the past three years we have completed 12 projects worth £81m under the auspices of these frameworks.
