The work is for the Friary Outer scheme, which is part of Lichfield District Council’s city centre investment strategy.

Developer S Harrison Developments selected Miller, with whom it already has good relations from other projects. Last year Miller was appointed by S Harrison as main contractor on a £32m project to provide new head offices for City of York Council. S Harrison is one of two joint venture partners delivering the £100m Friarsgate scheme in Lichfield.

Miller will start work on site in Lichfield in early April, managing the scheme from its Midlands and Southwest office.

Miller Construction regional managing director Simon Burton said: “We are pleased to have been appointed main contractor for this new development in Lichfield. We are delighted to be working with S Harrison Developments again and look forward to delivering this exciting new mixed-use scheme and building a positive relationship with Lichfield District Council.”
