Morgan Sindall makes the cut on £500m East of England framework

6 Apr 11 Morgan Sindall has been appointed by the Smarte East Alliance of local authorities to its framework contract for major building construction works.

The four-year framework has a total anticipated spend of up to £500 million across three lots. Morgan Sindall has been appointed on lot 2 (projects ranging in value from £550,000 to under £2.5m) and lot 3 (projects valued at £2.5m and over) of the framework.

It will compete against Farrrans, Lakehouse and May Gurney for projects worth £2.5m or more.

For the mid-size contracts it will be up against Lakehouse and May Gurney again, as well as Ashe Construction, Barnes Construction and Borras Construction.

The Smarte East Alliance is an alliance between three east of England local authorities, Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk county councils, It was formed with the aim of achieving efficiency, reliability and continuous improvement in the procurement and delivery of public sector capital works projects.

Morgan Sindall Group chief executive Paul Smith said: "We are delighted to be appointed to this framework. The appointment demonstrates our ability to deliver a wide range of high quality construction projects and our strong footprint across the east of England."
