Morrison's forward order book now stands at £1.4bn

1 Nov 10 Morrison has broken the £1billion ceiling on its order book for the first time in its history. Morrison's forward order book now stands at £1.4billion, following a record 12 months of new business wins.

Since January, Morrison's new business wins have totalled £780million with a further £580million of possible contract extensions. New contracts include a £300million 10 year partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, a £90million 10 year contract with Family Mosaic Housing Association and a £60.5million 5.5 year contract with Arms Length Management Organisation 2010 Rotherham.

The company now has over 45 contracts within the public and private sectors and looks after over 500,000 houses and 4,000 public buildings across England and Scotland.

Guy Wakeley, Chief Executive of Morrison, said: "Morrison continues to go from strength to strength and we have seen significant growth in our core responsive repairs business since 2009.

"New opportunities continue to come to market and demand within the public sector for our services has never been higher. The results of the Government's comprehensive spending review due later this month, is sure to create further opportunities in the market as authorities look to reduce their costs by outsourcing services to the private sector. Morrison as the market leader in responsive repairs is well place to take on these opportunities."
