NCC wins Copenhagen port housing development

9 Apr 13 NCC has been commissioned to construct housing units and parking at the Port of Copenhagen.

The SEK379m (£38.4m) contract is for customer Marmormolen.

The 33,000m2 project comprises is divided into 14,000m2 of housing units and a 19,000m2 car park.

They will be the first housing units to be built in the city’s new Nordhavnen district. Efficient energy consumption and sustainability will be the focus of the project.

“I am delighted that NCC once again has been given the opportunity to demonstrate that we have what it takes to build exciting cutting-edge projects in terms of design and function,” says Martin Palmquist, in charge of NCC’s construction operations in eastern Denmark.

NCC is working under a turnkey contract and Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects has designed the housing. Project planning is under way and the project will start after the summer, with delivery scheduled for August 2015.
