NCC’s project for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA) is part of a long-term plan to provide a four-lane highway extending from Oslo to Kristiansand. The section that NCC will now construct will result in a unified highway through the Vestvold region. As well as the 7km of highway, the contract includes eight bridges, four culverts, 1km of other roads and three intersections.

“An important factor in being commissioned for this assignment is that NCC recently acquired the Carl C Fon AS company, which is located in Vestfold and conducts most of its operations there, which means that this company will play a key role during construction of the highway,” said NCC Construction Norway district manager Knut Liavaag.

Work will begin this summer and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2014.
