New grabs for Bobcat mini-excavators

4 Mar 11 Bobcat has launched two new ranges of hydraulic grabs for its E55W, E60 and E80 mini-excavators.

The first range is a new family of grabs for demolition and general sorting jobs. These are available in widths of 50cm and 60cm and come as standard with the HPX drive.

The enclosed design in the HPX drive system helps to protect components from damage and removes the need for vulnerable hydraulic cylinders and bushings and pins.  The compact rotation head absorbs high forces and is designed to cope with the demanding conditions on demolition sites.  Rubble is screened by perforated shells.

The second range is a series of multi-purpose ‘pick-and-place’ grabs, available in widths of 40cm and 50cm.  These come with either the HPX drive or a hydraulic cylinder for opening and closing.

All the grabs are supplied as standard with hydraulic opening and closing, and with infinite bi-directional hydraulic rotation. Every model is available with the pin-on, Klac and Lehnhoff mounting systems.

The grabs operate with two-way secondary hydraulics and therefore require four hydraulic lines for installation. The excavator has to be equipped with two-way secondary hydraulics because the grabs use two hydraulic circuits. One circuit controls hydraulic opening and closing of the grab, the second hydraulic circuit controls infinite rotation left and right.
