New site manager for Glasgow construction firm

1 Apr 11 The Glasgow based, Strategic Team Group, announces the appointed of David Hipson to the position of site manager, as the firm continues to forge ahead with expansion plans in the region.

The appointment follows significant increases in  contracts secured through framework agreements and a healthy flow of new business generated as a result of the company’s reputation in the region.  Much of the new work has seen the firm involved in the restoration and refurbishment of Georgian and Victorian tenement dwellings within the Central Belt of Scotland.

David, a master of many crafts, from a time-served joiner / cabinetmaker, with a host of awards and commendations for his work, to a graphic designer responsible for designing (amongst others) the FIAT car badging 3D graphic, which is still in use today.  Now a specialist in the world of construction, David has spent the last 10 years delivering new build schools, luxury mansions, shopping mall refurbishment projects, as well as major restoration projects in the region including Hans Hamilton Tomb (Dunlop, Ayrshire), Boswell Museum and Mausoleum (Auchinleck), and St Meddans Church (Troon).  David’s area of expertise is in stonemasonry and joinery, which has seen him become involved within the Scottish Stone Liaison Group, advising on the establishment of Modern Apprenticeships, looking at the development of the stone industry and training the tradesmen of the future.

Commenting on David’s appointment, Strategic Team Group’s Scotland director, Stuart Mason said:

“David’s new role will see him primarily responsible for framework agreements plus working across multiple clients, such as local councils and building surveying practices.  His extensive experience of working on major restoration projects, setting up contracts, implementing and delivering them on time within budget, along with his creative eye for detail, will all prove invaluable.
