The facility is intended to provide the industry with a cutting-edge testing and certification service helping grow exports and improve product compliance.
Development has involved many years of planning with lighting manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and wholesalers.
The 1,160m2 purpose-built facility in Telford is claimed to be the largest facility of its type in Europe. It already employs more than 20 people and it is envisaged that the Laboratory will employ more than within the next two years.
The investment was funded in part by the government’s Regional Growth Fund.
