The proposed development is on the site of the former Coventry Technical College at Earlsdon.
The project comprises an ExtraCare Charitable Trust retirement village for around 350 people including 262 individual apartments around a community centre. Extracare already runs three smaller housing developments in Coventry at Whitley, Binley and Canley. But the planned development at Earlsdon Park would be the biggest so far.
Set to open in 2015, the development is expected to obtain a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ and achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
A planning application is set to be decided in the spring and if successful, construction could start later this year and be completed in 2015.
