Osborne picked for University of Greenwich

15 Feb 11 Geoffrey Osborne has signed a £42.55m contract to build a new teaching block for the University of Greenwich

The development, in Stockwell Street in the heart of the town, comprises two linked buildings that vary between three and four storeys high and total 16, 237 square metres, including a large basement.

It is expected to take 48 months to complete.

The proposed building will be home to the campus library, the School of Architecture & Construction and other facilities including TV studios and editing suites. This will allow more of the university’s activities to be based in Greenwich, near the main part of its campus in the Old Royal Naval College.

Last year Osborne completed the £52m redevelopment of West Thames College in west London, in the grounds of the Grade II listed Spring Grove House, the former home of Kew Gardens founder Sir Joseph Banks.
