The deal follows HICL’s recently announcement that it is setting up a joint venture holding company with Kajima, to be 75% owned by HICL. The Brentwood PFI share sale was structured so that the new JV wholly owns the project.
The Brentwood hospital project is a 32-year concession to design, build, finance, operate and maintain a community hospital in Brentwood, Essex, providing approximately 50 inpatient beds in a 9,000m2facility. Construction was completed in August 2008.
Hard FM services are undertaken by Integral UK Limited and soft FM services by Initial Facilities. Kajima is currently responsible for management of the project, and will continue to be so under the new ownership arrangements.
