The company was set up by chairman and CEO John Parrott in 1969 and specialised in petrol station forecourt construction for major oil companies and supermarkets. It also worked in retail and commercial construction for clients such as fast food outlets and car showrooms.
Collapse of the company comes despite several recent contract awards, including new Shell petrol station developments in Amesbury, Basingstoke Newbury, Morden and Waltham Forest, and for a supermarket in Inverness.
JP Group recently completedthe knock down and rebuild of a new petrol filling station for Morrisons at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
Group turnover had fallen from £26m a few years ago to £11m last year.
Nigel Morrison and James Stares from accountant Grant Thornton have been appointed joint administrators.
JP Demolition and Petroleum Decommissioning Ltd, and TJP Homes Ltd are not in administration.
