The four-wheeler is being used to grit roads and clear snow in places ordinary trucks cannot go, as part of May Gurney’s highways maintenance contract with Surrey County Council.
May Gurney has also added 24 trucks, taking the council's gritter fleet to more than 40 trucks, and stockpiled 17,000 tonnes of salt – 4,000 tonnes more than last year.
May Gurney’s £60m long-term highways maintenance contract with Surrey began in April 2011.
