Rosemary Beales to leave CECA

5 Jan 11 Rosemary Beales is to step down as national director of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) in March after 15 years in post.

Ms Beales helped set up CECA in 1996 after the demise of the Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors, where she had been legal affairs director.

“Having worked to help establish CECA in 1996 after the dissolution of the Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors and having seen the association through considerable growth and change, I remain extremely proud of my role at CECA and everything we have achieved,” Ms Beales said. “I believe CECA is an active, positive and influential part of public life in the United Kingdom and will continue to provide leadership to the construction industry.”

She added: “After nearly a decade and a half in post it would be impossible not to have grown strongly attached to the organisation and the many people I have had the privilege of working with throughout that time, both staff, members and the many others who make up our industry and its clients. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support I received during my time as national director and to formally wish you the very best for the future.”

Seamus Keogh, chairman of the board of CECA National, said: “Rosemary Beales has been a fundamental part of our association since it was founded. She steered CECA through many challenges and has provided leadership not just within CECA but in the wider industry.
