Skanska lands £40m Polish road scheme

2 Jun 11 Skanska has won the £40m construction contract for the second phase of the Sucharski Route outside Gdansk, Poland.

The client is Gdanskie Inwestycje Komunalne, a company established by the city of Gdansk to carry out road projects connected with Euro 2012.

The second phase of the route involves 2.7km of two-lane road, one roundabout, two junctions, four viaducts and one flyover. The road will connect the city’s southern by-pass with the harbour and ferry terminal. In total the route will be 8.3km long. The project will be financed from the budget of Gdansk and European funds. Construction will start immediately and the road is planned to be completed by the end of next year.
