The new work includes two contracts from South Lanarkshire Council, totalling £3.2m, for extension and refurbishment works at Auldhouse Primary School in East Kilbride and Leadhills Primary School in Biggar, both scheduled for completion by August 2013.
There is also a £1.9m contract from South Ayrshire Council to build a new primary school in Kirkmichael, also due for completion by August 2013.
NHS Ayrshire & Arran awarded a £550,000 contract for refurbishment, mechanical and electrical works at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
Clark Contracts’ small works division has brought in £1.5m of new contracts, including rewiring and building works at Bishopton Primary School, refurbishment works on shopfronts for Glasgow Housing Association and at Arrol Park Resource Centre in Ayr.
Chairman Steve Clark said, “It’s great for us to start the New Year with these very welcome new contracts. In particular, this new work underlines our strengths in the education and health sectors and we will be very much focused on building momentum in these and other key sectors throughout 2013.”
