Developer CLS Holdings plans to comprehensively refurbish the existing office space at Clifford's Inn on Fetter Lane, in London EC4 and build eight new residential apartments.
The scheme will provide 3,423 square metres of Category A office space and 500 square metres of residential accommodation.
Work is scheduled to start in the second quarter of 2013, with completion 12 months later.
The property was built in the 1930s of steel frame with brick elevations and solid floors under a slate asphalt roof.
CLS executive chairman Sten Mortstedt said: "We are very pleased to have secured planning approval in this prime location to substantially enhance the group's property into high quality offices and residential apartments, and look forward to starting the refurbishment shortly. This project will create hundreds of construction jobs over the next 15 months."
