Stewart Milne Construction Secures over £15m of New Contracts

13 Jun 11 Stewart Milne Construction, has won new contract wins totalling over £15 million.

Within the contracts, the company has secured over £5m of new business in the commercial sector, with projects in Cumbernauld, Perth, Aberdeen and Dundee.  In Cumbernauld, the contractor, a design and build specialist, will build a new industrial unit for road marking specialists, Markon, and in Perth it will refurbish the existing Woolworths building in the town centre, developing it into new retail space.  In Aberdeen it is working on a two phase contract with Ashley Group, converting existing warehouses into office space.  Meanwhile, in Dundee, the contract will involve the refurbishment of lab space for a client in the technology industry.

Demonstrating the company’s sustainability credentials, Stewart Milne Construction will also be working with Servite Housing Association and Highland Council to build 50 new low carbon homes in Inverness.  The £4m project will bring much needed affordable housing to the Highlands and will benefit from the latest sustainable technologies and specifications, including Stewart Milne Timber Systems’ groundbreaking Sigma II build system.

Other new projects include a remodelling and refurbishment project for Aberdeen College, the construction of 22 timber frame flats and houses in Inverurie for Aberdeenshire Council and a 20 bed extension of existing student accommodation in Aberdeen for Unite Group.  Stewart Milne Construction has also secured a contract with Perthshire Housing Association for a fourth phase of affordable housing at the award-winning Muirton development in Perth.  As part of regeneration of the area, the company has worked closely with the housing association, successfully completing the initial two phases of the project, with completion of the third phase imminent.
