One of the most complex aspects of the Zielone Arkady – Green Arcades - shopping centre in Bydgoszcz will be the ‘crystal’ - a large steel and reinforced concrete structure.
Strabag will work with the client, ECE Projektmanagement Polska, to execute the project under its ‘teamconcept’ partnership arrangement. The arrangement is based on the cooperation of the general contractor and the client in every phase of the project in order to minimise costs and accelerate the processes. “The partnership-based cooperation simply pays off,” said Rainer Steindl, commercial sub-division manager at Strabag.
The construction of Zielone Arkady will begin in April 2014 and is scheduled for completion in October 2015.
The centre will have 50,000m2 of rental space and the project involves the construction of two buildings on an 11.5ha plot of land. The main structure will be the shopping centrem with three floors for retail and services as well as one floor for offices in the western part of the building. A six-storey car park will be built on the north side.
Zielone Arkady will be the first building in Bydgoszcz with BREEAM certification.
