Strathclyde Police seeks bids for £24m HQ

3 May 11 Strathclyde Police is seeking a design and build contractor for its £24m new headquarters building in South Dalmarnock.

The building will have a gross internal floor area of 12,500m2over five floors, and will provide office accommodation for about 800 people.

The deadline for submissions of requests to participate is 30 May and invitations to tender will be sent to selected candidates on 18 July. Tenderers will submit two options, one including the purchase of the existing headquarters building.

Limited preparation works will have been undertaken in advance of the main construction works. The building will incorporate three internal glazed atria and materials in its external elevations will include high-performance curtain walling with double glazed units formed in high performance toughened glass.

External works will include hard and soft landscaping, utility infrastucture and the construction of 200 car parking spaces.

The contract duration will be 22 months.
