Temporary health centre facilities craned into position at Conisbrough

9 Jul 10 Construction company Morgan Sindall has delivered temporary medical facilities as work progresses on the new health centre at Conisbrough, near Doncaster.

The firm, which is constructing the £5.9 million building in Gardens Lane, Conisbrough, used a crane to lower the cabins into position. The temporary facilities are now being used by medical professionals from the former health centre, which is to be demolished to make way for the new scheme.

Morgan Sindall is building the new NHS centre for Doncaster Community Solutions – a public private partnership between Community Solutions for Primary Care, NHS Doncaster, Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and Community Health Partnerships. The two-storey building will house two GP practices, facilities for district nursing, ambulance services, group work rooms, a pharmacy and a minor operations unit. Demolition of the former health centre, which it is replacing, has started. The entire project is set to be completed in autumn 2011.

Morgan Sindall is currently working on a second new health centre in Doncaster for the NHS. The £6.5 million building, in Sepulchre Gate West, will accommodate a GP practice, dentistry facilities, a pharmacy, drop-in centre and community facilities. The four-storey building is also due to be completed in autumn 2011. Morgan Sindall has a long association of delivering primary care facilities in Doncaster and over the last five years has been involved in projects totalling £24 million.
