The SH 99 Grand Parkway and the I-35E managed lanes scheme are to be built under a public-private partnership (PPP) procurement process. Innovative ideas on development and risk balance on all possible business models are being sought from individual firms or teams with experience in developing or financing large transportation infrastructure projects.
“Issuing these RFIs now will allow us to gather valuable information from industry that will help to accelerate development of these vitally important projects if authority is ultimately granted by the governor through the bill previously passed by the legislature,” said Mark Tomlinson, director of the department’s Turnpike Authority division.
RFIs for each of the projects are due to be made available on 10 June with responses due by 6 July for the SH 99 and 20 July for the I-35E.
