Architectural practice RHWL has joined the global network of Hong Kong firm Aedas and is now called Aedas RHWL. Its Arts Team division is now Aedas Arts Team.

As part of the move, Peter Shaw joins the global board of Aedas and continues to lead Aedas RHWL whilst Barry Pritchard leads Aedas Arts Team.

RHWL – originally Renton Howard Wood Levin Architects – designed Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre, the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, and the Old Vic and Sadler’s Wells theatres in London.

Aedas chairman Keith Griffiths said: “RHWL has strong experience in urban planning and commercial development in London and the UK and is one of the most prominent European arts and culture architects. Aedas RHWL will support our Asian clients and mixed commercial and residential work in London.

The takeover comes a year after Aedas demerged from its European operations, which now operate as AHR.
