When the housing association called for tenders nearly two years ago, the estimated value of the work was £30m. The contracts that have now been signed are little more than £11m in total value.
Locally-based Mackenzie Construction’s contract is worth a shade under £4.0m; Wates’ is
£4.3m; Mears’ contract is worth less than £2.8m.
The framework deal includes cladding, replacing doors and windows, roof work, lighting and insulation.
