Caterpillar master distributor Finning has been building up a network of dealers for compact equipment and Clitheroe-based Steadplan is the latest addition.

The Man truck dealer will now also offer Cat mini excavators, compact track loaders and skidsteer loaders.

Cat Compact dealer manager John Tierney said: “The partnership with Steadplan is a major move for Finning as we look to make significant growth to our compact equipment sales in the UK. Due to its impressive track record of offering high levels of 24/7 support in the highly competitive truck market, we approached Steadplan, with a view to it becoming the newest compact dealer for Finning Caterpillar.  The team is really up for the challenge and the vision shown by the Steadplan team was exactly in tune with what we are trying to achieve at Finning, so we are really pleased and excited that they decided to join us.”

Steadplan operation director Jeremy McGrath said: “When Finning approached us with the proposal to become one of its growing number of compact dealers, we recognised the real opportunity to diversify our business with what is a globally recognised brand in Caterpillar. With the continued support of Finning, we are confident we can become an incredibly successful Cat compact dealer in the northwest of England.”
