Vital Rail on track for tube work

15 Apr 13 Salford based Vital Rail has won contracts worth up to £7.5 million for track reconditioning on the London Underground.

The work for maintenance company Tube Lines includes, fitting new rails and sleepers, reconditioning the track and pit blocks as well as providing construction supervision services. Vital has been a major supplier to Tube Lines for several years.

John March, recently appointed chief operations officer of Vital Rail, says: “I am delighted to continue our strong relationship with Tube Lines in the provision of critical resources to undertake challenging and complex projects on the London Underground infrastructure."

The contracts will take around two years to complete.
