Wates seeks northeast suppliers

29 Jan 13 Affordable housing contractor Wates Living Space is seeking specialist contractors and local traders to join its supply chain in the northeast.

Wates is planning a series of ‘Meet the Buyer’ events to give local subcontractors the chance to offer their services for a range of new-build and housing refurbishment works.

A number of different trades are required, including asbestos removal, brickwork, domestic electrical contractors and roofing specialists, as well as flooring contractors, joiners, metalworkers, fencers, plasterers, electricians, plumbers and groundworks specialists.

The event is free and takes place on 13 February at the Newcastle Gateshead Marriott at the MetroCentre from 09:30am until 16:00pm.

Interested parties are asked to complete an expression of interest form to pitch for a 20-minute interview slot. To register, please contact Laura Kennedy at BE Group on laura.kennedy@be-group.co.uk or Tel: 0191 426 6333. Delegates will also be given one-to-one procurement advice to support upcoming bids.

Wates Living Space regional managing director Joanne Jamieson said: “We are keen to continue to support subcontractors across the northeast, a commitment that we fully intend will benefit the regional economy and local employment. We have a solid network of reliable subcontractors on which we want to build and Meet the Buyer events are a perfect means to facilitating mutual benefit between us and our supply chain.”
