The two football clubs are each bidding to relocate to the stadium, but only West Ham is planning to retain the athletics tracks.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company is deciding between them and is expected to announced its preferred bidder tomorrow (11 February). According to the BBC, it will be West Ham. OPLC says this is “pure speculation”.
Whichever club is recommended by the OPLC, the government and the Mayor of London have to approve the decision, but are considered unlikely to overturn the OPLC.
Tottenham’s plan involves rebuilding much of the stadium and getting rid of the athletics track. As compensation, it would re-build the National Sports Centre at Crystal Palace.
