Associate Director - Building Surveyor Job in Sevenoaks, Kent

Associate Director - Building Surveying job for an established multidisciplinary consultancy based in Sevenoaks, Kent. The role will be supporting the Directors with the view of progressing into a Director level role. Offering a salary of £75,000 - £90,000 (negotiable) + bonus + healthcare + future share options. You will be joining a growing consultancy with a strong pipeline of work in the residential/affordable housing and other public sector projects.

The role will be supporting the technical delivery of projects, fee projections, team leadership including performance appraisals for their surveying teams across London and Sevenoaks. They deliver major urban regeneration, remedial, high-rise, building safety case work, measured building surveys and retrofit surveys for Local Authorities, Developers, Housing Associations and Property Management companies. With 4 offices across the south and circa 100 staff, you will be liaising across their wider multidiscipline teams of fire safety, cost consultancy and project management. Our client is looking for a Chartered Building Surveyor who has worked at a senior operational level for a consultancy, ideally residential/affordable housing background, but other sectors would also be considered.

Role & Responsibilities

- Co-ordination with Directors, Managing Director, Fire Engineering Delivery Director

and Finance Manager

- Engage with clients on complex defects, solutions, enquiries and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project

- Manage financial aspects of the team including fee proposals, invoicing and fee projections

- Directly and via line managers train and mentor building surveyors, project managers, and associated resource management support

- Liaise with contractors, consultants, residents and other internal and external stakeholders

- Secure new projects/clients and nurture repeat business from clients

- Bid and submission writing, case study review management

- Assist with online forums, roundtable discussions and presentations

- Coordinate effective maintenance and improvement of CRM system

- Ensure timely completion of inspections, reports and remedial works

- Manage multiple projects simultaneously as part of a team

- Technical surveying and building pathology, assessing the quality and cause/effect of building defects in particular reference to high-rise residential buildings

- Building inspection for other property types such as commercial, healthcare, education

- Report writing and contract administration for high-rise remediation projects

- Support the resident liaison process

- Lead on new service offerings

- Some Employers Agent activity on new build projects

- Minute taking at meetings

- Management of resource and quality in delivery PFI Surveys, measured surveys, building safety case reports and associated BIM Information Management/CDE

- Assist and advise teams with the tender and procurement process.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years' experience in consultancy

- MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor

- RICS Accredited Degree or similar

- Experienced in projects across full life cycle from design, strategic issues, stakeholder management, operational delivery and procurement

- High-rise residential experience

- Experienced in delivering service offerings; building safety case work, PFI, measured building surveying, remedial and largescale new build residential would be preferred

- Experienced in managing teams

- Experienced in managing multiple work programmes

- Experienced in financial management

- Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Fire Safety Legislation

- Remedial / refurbishment experience on largescale projects

- Experienced in diagnostic, building pathology and report writing

- UK Driving Licence and own car.
