Job Description
We have a new vacancy for an Area General Manager to lead a number of our Readymix plants across the Central belt in Scotland. You will be home based and operate across various Readymix sites in the area. Reporting to our Regional General Manager, you will have full P&L responsibility and manage around 20 employees spanning across our commercial and operational areas. You will utilise your strong commercial acumen to identify and recommend opportunities for business development, through both organic growth and acquisition. With full responsibility for logistics in your patch, you will procure and manage hauliers to ensure optimal vehicle utilisation, as you build strategic relationships cross functionally and with key external partners/suppliers. Strong commercial acumen, experience of managing P&L, budgets, income statements and balance sheets. Ability to manage the operational elements of the role i.e. managing road and rail logistics to ensure vehicle optimisation (see role profile attached). Experience working with technical product teams within a business. Innovative thinking, with the ability to create opportunities and identity value. Ability to build strong and lasting relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of a matrix organisation.
