A-Plant Lux invests £2.25m in new traffic lights to hire

19 May 11 Customer demand has led A-Plant Lux Traffic Control & Management to invest over £2.25 million in new battery operated traffic light sets from Hollco Traffic Signals.

The new two way and multi phase battery powered traffic light systems are supplied with a purpose built trailer and are approved to the latest Highways Agency UK Specification TR 2502A.  The traffic light sets provide up to 20 days running time operating on 24 hour days.  Units can recharged without taking them off the trailer and, if required, the batteries can be changed while the lights are still working.

“Over recent months, we have seen a strong demand from the market place for battery powered traffic lights with the inherent benefits of vastly reduced noise, reliability, minimal maintenance, eco-friendly properties and prolonged running times,” said business development director for A-Plant Lux Jim McLachlan. “We have made this significant investment in the Hollco sets as they have been specifically designed to overcome many of the problems associated with traditional traffic light sets. the new units will be delivered to our service centres nationwide over the next few months.”
