Since 2008 Apollo has been responsible for 28,000 properties belonging to the London Borough of Camden under a £17m integrated services contract. As part of this contract, it was novated Seaflame for gas servicing on district heating systems for 15,000 domestic properties in the borough.
Now that Seaflame and its parent company, Kinetics, have gone into administration, Apollo has decided to deliver gas services itself directly. Apollo has also taken on Seaflame employees working on the contact under TUPE regulations.
Apollo Services managing director Duncan Forbes said: “With Kinetics’ operatives TUPE-d over to Apollo, we will have better control on the quality of the service we’re offering Camden’s residents. We’ll also be able to streamline systems, enabling us to invest further in the service. We believe this decision will turn this difficult situation into a positive for Camden, and will support Apollo’s wider business strategy.”
