Arcadis continues Greek airport role

6 Jan 22 Arcadis is to carry out a new phase of work for airport operator Fraport Greece.

Fraport is one of the world’s largest airport investors and operators, with assets in several European countries, the Americas and Asia. Subsidiary Fraport Greece is responsible for maintaining, operating, managing, upgrading and developing 14 regional airports across the Greek islands and mainland.

Arcadis's new appointment for traffic forecasting and capacity studies marks the continuation of six-year relationship dating back to when Fraport Greece was created in 2015. Arcadis has provided a range of technical advisory services and has now embarked on new traffic forecasts aiming to support Fraport Greece with its latest development masterplans.

Jason Buckland, head of aviation consulting and mobility at Arcadis, said: “The last 18 months have been extremely challenging for the aviation industry. However, despite the ongoing pressures resulting from the pandemic, the continuation of our work with Fraport Greece provides a degree of encouragement for the future of the aviation sector and sets a clear sign that the industry is committed to looking ahead towards a sustainable recovery.  At the same time, working across 14 different airports brings some unique operational challenges for our team, but with the breadth of our technical and regional expertise we are well placed to solve day-to-day issues and work closely with our client to achieve their long-term goals.”
