The 24-bed Adel Beck secure home comprises education and residential units for boys and girls aged between 10 and 17 who have been remanded, sentenced or admitted as a result of behavioural issues.
The buildings, designed by architect Keppie Design, will be predominately single storey to conform with government guidelines. Security and surveillance measures will be a high priority.
BAM will carry out extensive enabling works including access road improvements, demolition and car park creation.
Work on the pre-cast concrete frame will begin in August 2013, with completion scheduled for January 2015.
