The route of the new line is 8km long and has nine stops.
BAM’s €70m (£55m) contract includes the engineering and construction of the tram infrastructure, including tram tracks, overhead lines and stops. The work was awarded after an evaluation by the Greater Utrecht Authority covering the price/quality ratio on the basis of aspects including certainty for the work to be ready on time, community relations, quality and risk management, ease of maintenance and longevity.
